RING IN THE NEW YEAR IN MT WASHINGTON VALLEY, NH

Home to one of the top 2 ski towns in North America, combine skiing, riding, outdoor adventure and amazing dining experiences to ring in the next decade

North Conway, NH – From Christmas festivities to fireworks, Christmas week in Mt Washington Valley is filled with festivity.  With 13 ski resorts and XC Centers, plus more than 75 restaurants it’s no wonder North Conway is one of the top ski towns in North America according to readers of USA Today’s 10Best.  And when it comes to Christmas Week and New Year’s Eve, Mt Washington Valley – with North Conway in its center – is ground zero for outdoor adventure and party central to ring in the new decade.

Whether it’s festivity, merriment or cheer, there’s a great line-up of holiday events going into Christmas and New Year’s Eve for those seeking everything from family fun to romantic proposals. 

December 20, 21, 22: Mount Washington Valley Christmas Celebration Presented by M&D at Eastern Slope Inn Playhouse. Come share in a holiday journey as local youth take a trip through some of their favorite pastimes of the festive season. This holiday celebration will feature favorite Christmas tunes and stories plus dance performances, before culminating in a reading of The Night Before Christmas, and a special appearance by Santa Claus.

December 21-22:  Christmastime at Santa’s Village: There is something about visiting Santa’s Village during the season that is extra special. All rides except water rides are open, weather permitting. Santa, Mrs. Claus, and the reindeer are on hand to visit and take photos. Info: Santasvillage.com.

December 21: Santa visits Attitash, Wildcat & Shawnee Peak:  Old Saint Nick aka Santa Claus will take a quick break from the North Pole and Christmas prep to take to the slopes at Attitash, Wildcat and Shawnee Peak all in one day.  He will be skiing at Wildcat from 9:30am-11am before heading down the road to make turns at Attitash from 12pm - 2pm. He'll go to Attitash Main Mountain first and be at Bear Peak around 1:30pm. Santa will make some turns with guests, stop and pose with you for great photo opportunities and our mountain hosts will hand out candy cane treats to young skiers and snowboarders there.  Look for Santa throughout the day on the slopes and in the lodge at Shawnee Peak too.

Thursday, Dec 27-31: Cranapalooza at Cranmore Mountain Resort: The fun doesn’t stop once the lifts do. Join in the Cranapalooza fun  in Schneider Square, where you’ll find $1 S’mores, music & dancing, outdoor games, and special appearances from Merlin the magician, and everyone’s favorite penguin mascot – C-MORE! Tuesday, Dec 31: Fireworks over Schouler Park in North Conway Village:  Start with a wonderful dinner at your favorite Mt Washington Valley restaurant, then gather in Schouler Park to ring in the new year. Tuesday, December 31: Ring in the new year at King Pine: King Pine invites families to celebrate New Year's Eve with a fun evening on the slopes topped off with fireworks.  Enjoy night skiing/snowboarding lift tickets 4 - 9 p.m. - $29 Adult, $19 Junior/Senior or Moonlight 4 Pack available - 4 tickets for $66. S’mores for sale around the campfire at the base of King Pine and ice skating in the well-lit Tohko Dome until 10pm is free to everyone with a valid lift ticket.  Snow Tubing: Tickets are just $20 per person for each 2-hour session. Tuesday, December 31: New Year's Eve Partybration at Santa's Village: Families begin celebrating the new year a bit early for the younger set, with fireworks at 8pm. Enjoy your favorite rides and some of your favorite Santa’s Village treats one last time this year. This all-inclusive (food and soft drinks, rides and festivities) party will feature a DJ who will take requests. This is a capped admission event.  Tickets must be purchased in advance. Tuesday, December 31: Shredding into 2020 at Cranmore: Cranmore Mountain Resort will host “Shredding into 2020,” a freestyle event for skiers and riders of all ages and abilities.  The event is free to participate, and competitors can register in the Main Base Lodge from 10:30am – 11:30am.  The event will take place at 1pm.  A valid lift ticket or season pass is required to compete, along with a signed waiver for all participants.  Participants ages 18 and under must have a parent/guardian present to sign.   Info: www.Cranmore.com.

Tuesday, December 31: Cranapalooza and Fireworks at Cranmore: Celebrate your New Year's Eve in the heart of North Conway at Cranmore Mountain Resort! It starts at 2:30 pm to 4:30 pm in Schneider Square, where you’ll find s’mores, music, dancing and outdoor games.  Stop into Zip's Pub from 4:00 pm to 7:00 pm to hear live music from The Wayfarers! Fireworks will start at 6:00 pm over the South Slope. Then, the party keeps going on the third floor of the Main Base Lodge from 6:00 pm to 8:00 pm, where you'll find cookie decorating, a photobooth, music and Blue Moon glass decorating,  Throughout the entire event take part in giveaways, and there will be special appearances from our favorite penguin mascot, C-MORE too.  Info: Click here.
