JANUARY IS LEARN TO SKI & SNOWBOARD MONTH IN MT WASHINGTON VALLEY, NH

North Conway, NH: Is learning to ski or snowboard on your resolution list for 2015? Do you have a friend or family member that should be joining you on the trails? If either of these ideas sounds familiar, you or your friends/family might want to take advantage of Ski NH’s Learn to Ski and Snowboard month in January. This promotion is designed help first time skiers and boarders become comfortable on the slopes or trails by providing a lesson, rental equipment and lift ticket for $29 or trail pass for $19. The Mt. Washington Valley Alpine and Nordic ski areas participating in Ski NH’s Learn to Ski and Snowboard month are King Pine Ski AreaCranmore MountainBretton WoodsGreat Glen Trails, and Bretton Woods XCAttitash and Wildcat are offering the same January $29 promotion  Please note these specially priced packages are offered January only, at special times, and space is limited.

Any time after January 2, 2015, visit www.SkiNH.com where you will find links to each participating resort and reserve your Learn to Ski and Snowboard lesson. If you register for this promotion at any of the above ski resorts or XC Centers you can expect your Learn to Ski clinic to include a lesson, rental equipment and a lift ticket at a discounted price of $29 at Alpine resorts or $19 at Nordic resorts. This promotion is available to first time skiers, ages 13 and older. Reservations are required.  You can also contact Attitash and Wildcat separately to learn more about their programs.

Each of Mt Washington Valley’s ski resorts and XC Centers are dedicated to getting you on the trails and slopes with personal attention in a group lesson setting. Wildcat Mountain:  New to skiing and riding?  Take advantage of Wildcat's $29 Learn2 January Special - Space Limited, Call To Reserve Today! If you know a friend or family member age 13+ who should be joining you when you visit the slopes this season Wildcat wants to be their "home" mountain. and share the Wildcat Mountain experience in an easy complete package for just $29! For the month of January (excluding January 17-19, 2015), Wildcat is offering their Learn2 Single Clinic program that includes 3-hour lesson, rental equipment, and lift ticket for only $29. There's only one catch, spaces will be limited and must be reserved and paid for at least 48 hours in advance by calling 1 (888) 754-9453 extension 217. Attitash Mountain Resort,Wildcat’s sister resort offers a $29 Learn2 January Special - Space Limited, Call To Reserve Today! Do you know a friend or family member age 13+ who should be joining you when you visit the slopes this season? Attitash wants to be the ones to get them started, become their home mountain and share the Attitash Mountain Resort experience in an easy complete package for just $29! For the month of January (excluding January 17-19, 2015), Attitash is offering their Learn2 Single Clinic program that includes 3-hour lesson, rental equipment, and lift ticket for only $29. There's only one catch, spaces will be limited and must be reserved and paid for at least 48 hours in advance by calling 1 (866) 376-4293.  After January, a number of learn to ski programs are availalble.  Click here for a link to the Attitash Ski School's learning programs throughout the ski season.  

In addition to the SkiNH’s Learn to Ski month, Cranmore Mountain also offers their own GET (Guaranteed Easy Turns) lesson. This package is $299.00 and designed for first-time skiers, ages 13 and older.  The GET program includes three GET beginner ski lessons throughout the 2014-15 winter seasons, with rental equipment, instruction and lift tickets on each visit. You must reserve your spot by visiting this website:http://www.cranmore.com/winter/get-program. Cranmore has partnered with Rossignol to bring you the “GET Skis” package. Upon completing the third GET lesson, skiers will receive a pair of new Rossignol Experience 74 skis with bindings, and a discount on Rossignol ski boots.

Cranmore also provides the option of customizing your GET program with options of choosing one, two or three lessons for the reduced prices of $99, $149 and $199 respectively. These options are also open to those looking to snowboard as well. This option does not include the pair of new Rossignol Experience 74 skis with bindings, and a discount on Rossignol ski boots.

King Pineis a PSIA-certified Ski & Snowboard School and wants to help you gain confidence in Alpine or Nordic skiing. Their popular 1-2-3 Ski and 1-2-3 Snowboard packages are back for another season! 1-2-3 packages are geared for First-Timers and include rentals, lessons and lift tickets. When you learn is up to you-- take one now, one in a couple of weeks and one later this season.Upon completion of all 3 lessons, you will receive a pass good for 50% off tickets, lessons and rentals for the remainder of the 2014/15 season. (this pass is non-transferable). The 1-2-3 learning package includes:

  • 3 All-day lift tickets (beginner lifts on day 1 and All-lifts tickets on your 2nd and 3rd day)
  • 3 group lessons
  • 3 days of rentals (skis, boots and poles OR snowboard and boots)
  • 50% off tickets, rentals and lessons upon completion of all 3 lessons!

First lesson times: Non-holiday Midweek: 10AM, Noon and 2PM Weekend & Holidays: 10AM, Noon and 2PM. 2nd and 3rd lesson times: Non-holiday Midweek: 10AM and 2PM Weekend & Holidays: 10AM and 2PM. It is recommended that you arrive 1 hour before class time if you are renting equipment.  Adult packages are $159; junior packages (ages 8-12) are $129. 

Learn to ski at Black Mountain for only $79. Your ticket includes a ninety minute group lesson, an all-day lift ticket and full rental equipment. This ski lesson is available to beginner skiers ages 13 and older. Call (800) 698-4490 for lesson details and to reserve your spot. Black Mountain is a family-friendly mountain, located in Jackson, NH that offers a wide variety of terrain for any level of skier.  Click here to explore all the ski school and race options at Black Mountain. 

Bretton Woods is also participating in Ski NH’s January Learn to Ski or Snowboard package promotion. From January 4th through the 30th, your package includes a Learn to Ski or Snowboard lesson, equipment rentals and a Learning Center Quad lift ticket valid for the day of the lesson. This is open to first-time skiers and riders ages 13 and older and is $29.00. From Jan. 11th through the 16th, Bretton Woods’ Learn to ski program will be offered for free, however this package is not available January 18th through the 19th, 2015.

Also at Bretton Woods, new skiers and riders who complete their lesson will receive a special Explore the Woods Discount Card with a 10% discount at resort retail outlets and a 20% discount on rentals, lift tickets, and ski school lessons for the remainder of the 2015 ski season. In addition, the cardholder will have the opportunity to purchase a 2015-2016 Bretton Woods season pass for 20% off the early season price. Explore the Woods cardholders will be invited to the Season Passholder BBQ on March 22, 2015.

Bretton Woods’ “Learn to Nordic Ski” program teaches you the fundamentals of XC skiing. It includes a trail pass, touring or skate ski rentals and a group lesson for $19 for beginners ages 13 and older. Participants must make a reservation at least 24 hours in advance with the Bretton Woods Ski & Snowboard School at (603) 278-3303. Great Glen Trails is excited to introduce first timers to Nordic skiing and is celebrating with Learn to Ski month throughout January, 2015. If you have never skied before, Great Glen Trails has a team of experienced ski school teachers ready to help you take on the trails. The beginner lessons are offered in a group and are one hour & fifteen minutes. The instructors, led by cross-country Olympian Sue Wemyss, will introduce you to the sport of cross country skiing in an easy and fun environment. Here, Great Glen Trails will also begin teaching you a new discipline, such as skate skiing. The beginner lesson at Great Glen Trails includes a trail pass and ski rental for the day and are available at the reduced price of $19 when you present this online coupon: http://greatglentrails.com/winter/learn-to-ski-month/. Jackson Ski Touring Foundation (JSTF) presents fun, efficient and effective XC skiing techniques that create comfortability and confidence on the trails. The time spent in a ski lesson will add to the enjoyment of your overall skiing experience. Jackson Ski Touring Foundation PSIA certified. This XC center provides group and private lessons.   JSTF group lessons are available in the morning with the additional advantage of a discounted afternoon lesson to reinforce what you have learned in an earlier lesson.  This combination helps you improve technique with a focus on controlling down hills. Group rates are open to skiers ages ten and up and are $33. Lesson times are 10:15, 11:30, and 1:30 on the weekdays and 10:15, 10:45, 11:30, and 11:45 and 1:30 or by instructor availability.

Private lessons at JSTF are designed to meet your goals and abilities with personal attention. Private lessons are available in Classic and Skate techniques and open to any age. Private lessons are $40 per hour, per individual and $25 for each additional person. Private lessons are available at 9am and 2:30pm and an additional 1:15pm time on weekends, or by availability of instructor. Call 603-383-9355 to arrange your lesson.
