Give Mt Washington Valley cyclists three feet please

Paul Schurman, of the Mt Washington Valley Velo Club, is one of many Mt Washington Valley, NH cyclists dedicated to educating riders and drivers about bicycle safety during May.  With the advent of Bike Safety Month, celebrated throughout May, Schurman and other members of the Mt Washington Valley Velo Club hope to spread the word that New Hampshire is one of 15 states* that have passed the Three Foot Law requiring motorists to give cyclists at least 3 feet of clearance when passing.

The Mt Washington Valley Chamber of Commerce has been recognized as a bike friendly business by the League of American Bicyclists, as have a number of other Mt Washington Valley businesses.  Hard work is underway to build the Mt Washington Valley Bike Path to provide a safe and scenic corridor for cyclists throughout the Valley. For adventure cyclists and mountain bikers, grueling events like Newton's Revenge, the Annual Mt Washington Auto Road Bicycle Hillclimb and 24-Hours of Great Glen Trails attract those looking for the ultimate personal best.
