Nov 10: Mount Washington Valley Chamber of Commerce Holiday Gift Preview
- The 7th Annual Holiday Gift Preview will be held at the Red Jacket Mountain View Resort in North Conway from 6:00-8:00 pm. Artisans, specialty shops and outlets will present gift ideas and items for the holiday season. Food samples will be served from by Valley Original restaurants (a collection of independently owned and operated restaurants) and there will be a cash bar. Free admission. Check out the shopping packages offered by 36 Mt. Washington Valley lodging properties, including a Shoppers Survival Kit filled with coupons, energy bars and everything needed for some retail therapy. Nov 11: Nordic Ski Swap and Sale at Jackson Ski Touring - Jackson Ski Touring Foundation will celebrate a "Kick-Off Day" for the cross-country ski season on Saturday, November 11 by hosting a Nordic Ski Swap and Sale from 9:00 a.m. to 2:00 p.m. This event will offer skiers of all ages and abilities the opportunity to purchase quality cross-country ski equipment and gear at bargain prices. Nov 11: Historic Thanksgiving at Remick Country Doctor Museum and Farm - Learn about the history of Thanksgiving traditions, festivals and foods at this unique gathering from 1:00 pm to 4:00 pm. Attendees will see demonstrations of the preparation of an early 19th century meal, including plucking and dressing the turkey. Traditional food and drink using historic recipes will be prepared on the hearth, with plenty of samples for all to try. Nov 24- Dec 31: 10th Annual Tree Decorating Contest at Settlers' Green

Dec 2: 10th Annual Holiday Tree Festival at Settlers' Green - Celebrate the holidays with horse-drawn wagon with Santa, holiday carolers, gift wrapping, hot chocolate, cookies and more. All free and open to the public from 11am-3pm. Info: 603-356-7031 or www.settlersgreen.com.

Dec 10: A Victorian Christmas at Remick County Doctor Museum and Farm - Experience and savor the old-time delights of the Victorian Era with old and new friends. Sip wassail, sample an array of traditional Christmas food and drinks, and enjoy homemade cookies. Take a tour of the Caption Enoch Remick House, which will be filled with toys and decorated with the ambiance and flavors of the Victorian era. Dec 15: Free Ski Day at Attitash - Free skiing and riding for everybody. No strings attached, just walk up to the ticket window and get a lift ticket valid that day for no cost. Info: 603-374-2368 or www.attitash.com.

Dec. 27: Ullr Fest 2006 at Shawnee Peak - This evening event welcomes winter in style, with "The Beating of the Drums", a torchlight parade at 7:15 pm followed by fireworks at 7:30 pm.
